Chi Ho Han

German-based Korean concert pianist Chi-Ho Han remains a unique interpreter on a wide range of piano repertoires. Establishing a personal voice in German arts at age 20 Han claimed prizes at Beethoven Competitions respectively in Vienna and Bonn, and Schubert Competition in Dortmund. In 2014, he went onto winning the ARD International Music Competition (Germany) with Audience Award and Best Performance on Commissioned Work, First Prize at Seoul International Music Competition (Korea), Silver Medal at Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition (USA), and 4th prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition (Belgium) in 2016. In 2022 he won 3rd Prize and Isang Yun Prize at Orléans International Piano Competition (France) on contemporary art music, with his wide spectrum evidently proven across genres.

An active soloist and creative programmer, Han performed with critical acclaims at Seoul Arts Center Symphony Festival, Festival Internazionale di Musica da Camera di Cervo, International Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Kissinger Sommer International Music Festival, International Rheingau Music Festival, International Bodensee Music Festival, Lake Como Piano Festival, Musikdorf Ernen and Deer Valley Music Festival.

With a broad list of orchestral repertoires from complete Beethoven concertos, Romantic standards to contemporary works, Han has collaborated with Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Belgium, Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, Köln Sinfonietta, Lviv National Philharmonic, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Marseille, Royal Flemish Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and Utah Symphony Orchestra. Seasonal highlights this year includes Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Mozart’s K.466 and 467, Schumann’s A minor and Messiaen’s Oiseaux Exotiques.

Born in Seoul, Korea in 1992, Han studied in Essen with Arnulf von Arnim and obtained his Master degree (2017) and Soloklasse (2021) at the University for Music, Theater and Media in Hannover, Germany under Arie Vardi. He also studied at the International Lake Como Piano Academy with William Grant Nabore, Fou Ts’ong, Dang Thai Son and Dmitri Bashkirov among others.
