Lyric Soprano Yen Yen NG has been very active in vocal music scene in Hong Kong upon graduation from her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance at l’Université de Montréal in Canada.
She has made appearances at operas, musicals, concert soloist and a cappella performances, including Bastien from Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne (2002, Ecole de Musique Vincent D’Indy, Canada), Carmélite from Poulenc’s Les Dialgues des Carmélites (2005, L’Atelier d’opéra de l’Université de Montréal,
Canada), Minerve from Offenbach’s Orfée aux Enfer (2010, City Opera, Hong Kong), Shao Nu from Huang Huo’s Dr. Sun Yat-sen (2011, Opera Hong Kong), and the soprano solo at Opera Hong Kong’s performance of Rossini’s La Petite Messe Solonelle (2012).
Yen Yen has been awarded the Best Singer of the Year in 2002 by Ecole de Musique Vincent D’Indy, Canada, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club (voice training program scholarship) in 2009, under the tutelage of Ms. Lola Young.
Yen Yen is now the French diction coach for Opera Hong Kong Chorus and a member of a cappella group Zense. She has also worked with HKOS Cantata Singers and SingFest Academy, and the coach of the champion team at the Hong Kong International A Cappella Contest (2014). She aspires to spread the love of vocal art among the community.
