Gabriel Ma, Tenor

A graduate from the Jacobs School of Music (JSoM) at Indiana University, Gabriel MA earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music (Vocal Performance) under the tutelage of Professor Carlos Montané. He also holds a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA).

A performing musician, educator, and administrator, Gabriel had sung the roles of Don Basilio and Don Curzio in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Monostatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (LOSW), Germany. He is an Associate Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Ma is currently the Assistant Manager, Project Management for the Hong Kong Grand Opera Company Limited.


Ivy Mak, Mezzo-Soprano

Ivy MAK studied music at the University of Hong Kong and at the University of York (UK) for master degree before joining the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) for postgraduate diploma. Ivy had her debut at RNCM as the Baroness in Opera Vanessa with high regards from London TIMES newspaper and CityLife.

To date, Ivy performed the role of Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana with Opera Hong Kong; Principessa in Suor Angelica and Dorotheé in Massenet’s Le Cendrillon in France; Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro in Germany; Baroness in Vanessa, Sally in A Hand of Bridge, Zena in Katya Kabanova in United Kingdom and took part in numerous opera scenes including Die Zaubeflöte(Third Lady), Pelléas et Mélisande (Geneviève), Turn of the Screw (Mrs. Grose), Falstaff (Mistress Quickly), Yeomen of the Guard (Dame Carruthers) and Ariadne auf Naxos (Dryade). On the concert platform, she performed Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder, Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Brahms’ Vier Ernste Gesänge, Elgar’s Sea Pictures and Copland’s Old American Songs.

Internationally, Ivy won three prizes for opera singing in Italy at the city of Airola, Concorso Pietro Argento and at the Salzburg Grand Prize, Austria. She was chosen to sing in the master class of the prestigious soprano Montserrat Caballé in Spain 2014.


Kenix Tsang, Soprano

Kenix TSANG graduated from the Music department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and received her Master degree at the Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory, the Netherlands. She has received lessons from Chan Siu Kwan, Frans Huijts, Roberta Alexander and Dongjian Gong. She is currently a part-time Tutor in the School of Humanities (Music) of the University of Hong Kong and founding member cum vocal coach of HK SingFest.

As a concert soloist, she appeared in Durufle’s Requiem with Die Konzertisten; Poulenc’s Gloria and John Rutter’s Gloria with Hong Kong Oratorio Society; John Rutter’s Mass for the Children with Hong Kong Youth Choir under the composer’s baton. She also sang in productions of Hong Kong Arts Festival: Hong Kong Odyssey; chamber opera Datong: the Chinese Utopia (World premiere and London re-run) and Heart of Coral (Taipei re-run). She is 2nd prize winner in the 17th Osaka International Music Competition (Vocal Recital Course).

Her engagements in 2019 include: Crazy in Love (China Tour) with Opera Hong Kong, Daniel Lo’s Two Ladies of the HK Arts Festival @ Cattle Depot Creative Hub, Bach’s St Mark Passion with HK Singfest and Separation – A Lied Recital on Robert Schumann.


Nadia Wong, Soprano

Soprano Nadia WONG graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majors in vocal performance and opera.  At the age of 22, Nadia made her professional début as the Soprano solo in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 (“Resurrection“) in Macau.  Followed by her European début as Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in Italy.   Nadia has sung operatic and musical roles including Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen, Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Cercatrici in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Mother in the world premiere musical production of The Happy Prince and The Other Wiseman by David Quah and Tony Lam.  Other concert and oratorio repertoire include Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder and Laudate dominum from Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore.  She has also sung under conductors such as Pietro Mianiti, Maurizio Colasanti, Perry So, Apollo Wong and Stephen Lam.
