Raised in Vancouver, Canada, Wendy CHEANG has been an experienced performer soloist and chamber musician since a very young age. Her musical appearances have taken place in many parts of the world including Canada, France, Italy, Russia, England, Macau, Hong Kong and the Mainland China.
She began her formal training with Miss Karrie Tam at age 7 then furthered her studies with Eugene Skovorodnikov at the University of British Columbia. In 2011, under the tutelage of Nigel Clayton, she obtained her Master of Music degree from the Royal College of Music in London,
Miss Cheang has received numerous prizes throughout her years as a pupil. At the age of 13, she was selected by Maestro Clyde Mitchell of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra to become a member of Pianos Galore, an 8-piano ensemble formed by gifted youth pianists in the region. At 16, she was awarded the ARCT Piano Performance Diploma with Distinction from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She has also been privileged to work with many world-renowned artists such as Jacques Rouvier, Andre Lapante, Richard Raymond, Marina Goglidze-Mdivani, Rena Sharon, Patricia Hoy, Gerlinde Otto and Jack Winerock.
Since her relocation from the overseas in 2011, Miss Cheang has been an active piano instructor and journalist. She has also been enjoying a dynamic performing career of having had the opportunity to work with the Macau Orchestra, presenting recitals with her piano ensemble, The Huckleberry Duo, and appearing as a soloist in venues such as the Macau Cultural Centre, Macau Military Club, and the Xiamen Gulangyu Concert Hall. She is often in demand as an adjudicator music competitions such as The Macau-Asia Piano Competition, The Hong Kong Students Open Music, and the Lang Lang Youth Pianists’ Competition in Zhuhai, China.
Castor FU studied piano performance under the tutelage of Mr. Ma Cong Andrew and received his professional music training firstly in the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he obtained his Bachelor Degree of Music in 2009. In July 2009, Fu received the gold prize from the 2009 Asia International Piano Academy & Festival in South Korea. Fu then pursued the Master Degree of Music in Advanced Performance at the Royal College of Music in London and graduated in 2011 under the guidance of Professor Andrew Zolinsky.
As a soloist, Fu had performed in Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall, Hong Kong Lee Hysan Concert Hall, Macau Cultural Centre Small Auditorium, Cheonan Ewon Cultural Centre, South Korea and the London St Marry Abbots Church. And Fu was one of the adjudicators for the piano competitions from the ‘6th Hong Kong Students Open Music Competition’ organized by Speech & Music Recital Development Foundation in November 2013. Fu is now active as performer, accompanist and piano tutor in Hong Kong.
